Cruinniú na nÓg 2025 at South Dublin Libraries
Cruinniú na nÓg is Ireland’s national day of free creativity for children and young people under 18 — and the only celebration of its kind in the world. As part of the Creative Ireland Programme’s Creative Youth Plan, it offers young people across the country a chance to express themselves through hands-on creative activities — all completely free! This year at South Dublin Libraries, we’re turning up the volume with our theme: “Loud at the Library” — a joyful celebration of all things music. From the rhythm of traditional Irish tunes to the elegance of classical music, from spontaneous library busking to instrument-making workshops and beat-driven sessions, we’re filling our branches with sound, creativity, and community spirit. Whether you’re a young musician, a curious listener, or just want to make a little joyful noise, there’s something for everyone in this year’s Cruinniú na nÓg line-up. Join us and make some noise — in the best way possible!

Dublin Climate Action Week - at South Dublin Libraries
Dublin Climate Action Week is an annual week-long initiative that brings together the four Dublin Local Authorities, Codema (Dublin’s Energy Agency), and the Dublin Climate Action Regional Office (CARO) to raise awareness of climate action across the city and county. Running each May, the week highlights the vital role individuals, communities, and organisations can play in tackling climate change through local action. With events focused on biodiversity, energy, transport, circular economy, and more, it’s a chance for everyone to get involved, learn, and be inspired.
