The Night Belongs to Us
As part of their ongoing commitment to supporting the development of young artists and creating more inclusive events, SDCC Arts Office have invited the neurodiversity support group ThisIsMe to co-produce the latest The Night Belongs To Us event in Adamstown Youth and Community Centre on Friday, 6th December.
The Night Belongs To Us is an events programme for young people that features live performances by young musicians, DJs, spoken word artists, and comedians. The programme provides emerging performers with opportunities to showcase their work in front of young audiences, and addresses a need expressed by young people for opportunities to socialise and attend events in their local communities.
On the 6th December, ThisIsMe Neurodiversity, together with NOISE Music, Alternative Entertainments, and Sofft Productions, will create an event for young people that is accessible to all, including neurodivergent audiences and performers. The Night Belongs To Us in Adamstown Youth and Community Centre will take place in a specially designed sensory space that will provide young audiences with a unique live experience, and allow neurodivergent young people to be fully included. It will feature live acoustic performances by members of the SubSounds Youth Music Collective. For over 15 years SubSounds have been providing young musicians with opportunities to create and perform their own music. It has built a national reputation for excellence, and the current collective has a membership of over 70 talented young musicians. SubSounds is managed by Alternative Entertainments, funded by Music Generation South Dublin, and supported by CONTACT Studio.
