Phase 3 - September 2020 -Covid-19 Restrictions for the Dublin area
We are currently operating a Contact and Collect service for the duration of level 3 of the government's COVID-19 plan for the Dublin area.
At this time, it is not possible to enter the library to browse books, to study, or to use computers or printing service.
The requesting of items is operating as normal via the online catalogue. You can request items online and you will be notified when they are ready for collection. It is not necessary to book a collection time for books ordered online - you can call to your library to collect them any time during normal opening hours.
If you received a notification that a book you reserved before the library closure is ready for collection, you can collect these as normal and there is no need to contact us to book a collection time.
You can also contact your local library by phone or email during normal opening hours to request your books. Staff will select them for you and you will be allocated a time slot to collect your items.
Online services including ebooks, eAudiobooks, eMagazines and eNewspapers are all operating as normal 24/7 .
Online learning is also available 24/7. You will need your library card and PIN for the online services.
If you are cocooning and do not wish to visit your local South Dublin library, the Mobile Library Service are offering a home delivery service. Please contact them directly at 01 4597834 or email them to avail of this.
Books can be returned in the book drops outside our libraries during normal opening hours. No appointment necessary.
Thank you for your patience as we operate this system for the duration of level 3.
