Mayor of SDCC Cllr Vicki Casserly signs the Paris Declaration

Mayor of South Dublin County Council, Cllr Vicki Casserly has signed the Paris Declaration on Fast -Track Cities which aims to end the Aids Epidemic.

Speaking at the signing event on Thursday 13 June, Mayor Casserly said “I am delighted to sign the Paris Declaration on Fast - Track cities to show South Dublin County Council’s commitment to working with government, HSE and our co-signatories to achieving the targets of the Fast - Track Cities Initiative.”

Mayor Casserly added “Ending the aids epidemic and eliminating the stigma and discrimination associated with aids requires a coordinated multi agency approach and today’s event is an important step forward to achieving this.”

Fast-Track Cities is a global partnership between almost 300 cities and municipalities, the International Association of Providers of AIDS Care (IAPAC), the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS), the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat), and the City of Paris that are collaborating to reach zero new HIV infections, zero AIDS-related deaths, and zero HIV-related stigma/discrimination.
