♻️ Celebrating Community Composting Success in Clondalkin! 🍂

Congratulations to the Tidy Towns, Residents Associations and Clondalkin Global Garden Community volunteers who participated in Community Leaf and Green Waste Composting Pilot Programme and werepresented with their certificates by Mayor Councillor Francis Timmons.

SDCC were delighted to celebrate the achievements of the Community Groups, who under the expert guidance of Craig Benton, gained fantastic hand-on composting experience on how to transform leaves and green waste into valuable resources to improve soil health, support biodiversity, retain moisture and reduce the need for chemical fertilisers. As the leaves might otherwise be discarded the successful community composting programme supports SDCC's Circular Economy and Sustainability objectives.

A huge thank you to all involved and to Clondalkin Global Garden Community who hosted the event and installed their first wormery. The garden is a wonderful example of how caring for the environment and caring for people go hand in hand as the gardens fresh produce is shared with local foodbanks, community groups, residents in direct provision and families, benefiting countless people throughout the community.
