Library Home Delivery

Library @ Home Service

New-image

The South Dublin Mobile Library service, offers a free of charge Library @ Home Delivery service.

Our aim

To provide library access to individuals who have difficulty visiting their local branch library. We deliver to nursing homes, crèches, day care centres and individual homes on a regular basis.

The Library @ Home delivery service is delivered by library staff and can be adapted to cater for the personal interests, needs and requirements of individuals. Library staff accept requests or you can reserve online and can tailor the service in terms of types of material provided (talking books, large print books, paperbacks etc.), number of items, and length of loan period.

You will get a delivery of 1 to 10 books each month. You can decide how many you require. The books are delivered in a waterproof box to your doorstep. At the same time, we will collect your returns along with the request list that you will have put into the returns box.

Suitable for older people with mobility issues, people with disabilities, full-time carers, or people who cannot physically access a library or a mobile library stop.

Crèche drops

This is a service to crèches and Early Learning Services. The deliveries/ collections are every 2 months. We lend approx. 25 picture books. Larger crèches can request more if needed.

When we deliver

Our drivers are out up to 3 mornings weekly, delivering and collecting to all our Library @ Home patrons.
