Farmers Market at Rua Red

Visit us at Rua Red this Saturday 08 August from 10:30—15:30 for the Mountain People
Farmer’s Market, a day celebrating South Dublin Counties rural community.
This market brings farmers, producers, and crafters who are based in the Dublin Mountains
together to take part in a day of indoor market stalls and fun agri-fair type activities. ‘Goose’-dog
demonstrations, sheep shearing and wool spinning will take place outside Rua Red’s front
entrance, with market stalls on the ground floor. Come celebrate the people and produce that
the Dublin Mountains areas have to offer and get the chance to engage with agricultural
practices and culture in the local area.
This event is part of the exhibition programme for The Collie, The Cheviot and The Crouched
Skeleton, a major new commission by Orla Barry open at Rua Red until 26 September. In the
preparation for this exhibition, Orla spent time building connections with farmers living and
working in areas such as Glenasmole, Bohernabreena, and Glencullen, and developed new
work through conversation, storytelling and farm walks.
Admission free. All welcome.
Supported by SDCC Arts Office.
