Council Parks Information for COVID-19

02 Apr 20

Public Parks in the jurisdiction of South Dublin County Council  will be open to pedestrians in line with the Government announcement of new measures to minimise the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

Parks will remain open every day from 8am to 8pm.

All car parks attached to parks and open spaces will be closed until further notice.

This decision has been made in order to facilitate citizens living within 2km of parks to take brief individual physical exercise within their locality, which may include children from their household provided all adhere to the social distancing measures.

Citizens are reminded that all public and private gatherings of any number of people outside a single household living unit are prohibited.

Please try to time your visit for our less busy times (Our parks tend to be less busy before 12 midday or after 5pm).

If you arrive to find a park is busy or crowded please do not enter.

Social distancing in Parks means

  • keeping a space of 2 metres (6.5 feet) between you and other people
  • reducing physical interactions with people
  • avoiding crowded places

You'll see these around our parks to help people understand what 2 metres is.
