Local Enhancement Programme

Invitation to Community and Voluntary Groups to Apply for Capital Funding Under Local Enhancement Programme 2026

South Dublin County Local Community Development Committee is inviting community and voluntary organisations to apply for capital funding under the Local Enhancement Programme (LEP) 2026. The closing date for applications is 27th February 2026 at noon.

The Local Enhancement Programme provides targeted capital supports to community groups across Ireland. The initiative is funded by the Department of Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht and delivered locally through LCDCs in each Local Authority area. Funding is directed toward communities experiencing disadvantage to ensure resources reach areas of greatest need.

Capital funding is available to assist groups in improving community facilities and purchasing essential equipment. Eligible costs may include repairs and upgrades to buildings, furniture, tools, signage, IT equipment, lawn maintenance equipment, canopies, and training equipment. The programme is designed to strengthen community infrastructure and support groups in continuing to provide vital local services.

The Local Enhancement Programme operates in a complementary manner alongside other government and agency supports, enhancing the overall impact of community investment.

In line with Department guidance, 30% of the available funding will be ring-fenced for small capital grants of €1,000 or less. This approach enables a larger number of smaller organisations with limited resources to access funding, while also allowing for larger-scale capital projects that address disadvantage to receive partial or full support.

Community and voluntary groups can submit their application by clickinghere.
