SDCC Signs Landmark Outdoor Advertising Contract with JCDecaux

10 Feb 26

South Dublin County Council (SDCC) has signed a landmark 15‑year contract with JCDecaux, marking a major step forward in the modernisation and sustainable management of outdoor advertising across the county. Following a competitive tender process, JCDecaux emerged as the successful tenderer demonstrating a strong track record in delivering high‑quality, environmentally responsible advertising infrastructure that supports public communication and enhances the public realm.

The partnership will introduce a new generation of thoughtfully designed digital advertising formats that will improve the appearance of public spaces, support local businesses, and provide SDCC with dedicated media space for public service messaging. This will enable the Council to communicate more effectively with residents, promote local initiatives, and strengthen community engagement.

Colm Ward, Chief Executive of SDCC, said:

“Our partnership with JCDecaux represents an important milestone in creating a more connected, vibrant and sustainable county by supporting opportunity, innovation and community. Working with a recognised leader in the field will deliver high‑quality infrastructure in public spaces that will strengthen our ability to communicate with and serve local communities.  We are delighted to embark on this long‑term collaboration to deliver our vision of South Dublin being a place that meets the needs and ambition of everyone who lives, works and visits here.”

Joanne Grant, Managing Director of JCDecaux, said:“We are proud to partner with South Dublin County Council on this innovative advertising contract. This collaboration will enhance the local streetscape with a premium digital network that supports civic communication, promotes local events, and highlights sustainability and community initiatives. It will also deliver a dynamic, high-impact audience platform for brands and services across this thriving area.

Installation of the new digital advertising formats will commence late 2026 subject to regulatory processes. Further updates will be shared with councillors, stakeholders and the wider community as the project progresses.
