River Poddle Flood Alleviation Scheme - Phase 1 of the re-opening of Tymon Park
Following completion of flood alleviation works, we are pleased to announce Phase 1 of the re-opening of Tymon Park on Friday July 18th at 1.00pm, with the reopening of the area around the newly constructed Integrated Constructed Wetland.
Phase 1 includes the reopening of the Limekiln Road pedestrian access gates at Limekiln Avenue and Limekiln Manor and of the access point at the rear of the soccer pitch, which will allow access to the Wellington Lane end of the park from Limekiln Road
As there are still outstanding construction works yet to complete around the main lake, access to this area will continue to be restricted but we are currently striving to carry out a phased reopening of this area, leading to full access being re-opened in late August. This continued restriction at the main lakes means that the pathway to the right inside the Limekiln Avenue access gate and the pathway at the rear of the soccer pitch to the main lake will remain closed. An update will be sent when the next phase of the re-opening is approaching.
All the details of the access points and routes to be re-opened and on the restrictions are shown on the map below.
