Overnight Flooding Update – SDCC Response
Heavy rainfall overnight caused local rivers to overtop their banks in several areas, resulting in significant flooding across parts of the county. SDCC crews, working alongside teams from DLR and DCC, have been on site throughout the night to manage floodwaters and support affected residents.
Key areas impacted:
Dodder park Road / Woodside junction still closed.
- Grange Park closed.
Whitechurch Road & Grange Park:
Nutgrove Avenue / Loreto Park: Flooding from the river; water levels are now receding with crews actively monitoring the area.
Woodside Estate (Ely’s Arch): The Dodder and Dargle rivers burst their banks at the confluence, causing significant flows. SDCC and partner crews have been attending to prevent further damage.
Coolamber Park:
Ballyboden Road: Flooding occurred due to river overtopping.
Response Efforts:
SDCC crews, supported by additional teams from neighbouring authorities, have been working throughout the night to alleviate flooding, protect homes, and assist with clean-up operations. As water levels recede, crews continue to monitor the situation to ensure public safety.
Safety Advice: Residents are advised to avoid flooded roads and not attempt to drive or walk through floodwater. Please follow guidance from local authorities and stay informed via official channels.
We thank all our crews and partner teams for their tireless work during these challenging conditions.
