Orange Weather Warning Update
SDCC Severe Weather Assessment Team (SWAT) continues to respond to ongoing adverse weather conditions and related impacts.
A Met Éireann status orange rain warning has been issued for Dublin and Wicklow and is valid from 12 noon Thursday (5th Feb) until 12 noon Friday (6th Feb).
River levels remain high with further periods of rainfall expected on already saturated ground.
SDCC are monitoring river levels closely, to ensure appropriate responses as required. We are in regular contact with the National Emergency Coordination Group on all aspects of recent weather events.
Due to the ongoing weather warnings across Dublin including possible flooding due to saturated ground and high rivers, SDCC Parks will remain closed on Thursday 5th of Feb in the interest of safety.
Our Crews remain active across the county, making arrangements for possible events and responding to issues as they arise. Crews removal of debris at rivers (racks) and blockage clearing is ongoing to minimise negative impacts.
SDCC maintains a limited supply of sandbags at strategic locations for use in response to identified flooding risks. These resources are deployed by the Council where required, with priority given to critical infrastructure and locations assessed as being at immediate risk. For urgent flooding issues, continue to report any issues to SDCC at 01414900 during office hours or our out of hours emergency number 01 4574907 at all other times. To keep up to date please visit http://sdcc.ie or follow SDCC on social media. Further updates will issue as conditions develop.
