Examples of Adopted Policies
South Dublin County Council creates policies for all aspects of citizens' lives. Council policies are developed, monitored and reviewed through Strategic Policy Committees (SPC), which are made up of Councillors and sectoral interests. The following are examples of policies adopted by the elected members of South Dublin County Council.
The Corporate Plan is 5-year plan which lays out our mission, our values and our objectives. The current plan is from 2020 to 2024, the lifetime of the Council.
The Development Plan is a land-use framework that guides future development. The current plan is from 2016 to 2022. We have started the consultation process for the Development Plan 2022 - 2028 and has a dedicated website.
The Litter Management Plan 2020 - 2022 was adopted by the Council in March 2020. The plan proposes to address the negative impacts of litter on our county, improve the quality of life and sense of wellbeing of our residents, and enhance our commercial and tourism potential through effective and efficient:
- Enforcement of legislation and regulation
- Management and maintenance of our public realm
- Communication, education and awareness.
