Adamstown Strategic Development Zone (SDZ) Planning Scheme 2014

A revised Adamstown SDZ Planning Scheme was approved by An Bord Pleanála in December 2014. This decision followed a review of the Adamstown SDZ Planning Scheme 2003, which was undertaken in 2013, and a subsequent appeal to An Bord Pleanála.

South Dublin County Council has published the Adamstown SDZ Planning Scheme 2014 documents below (related documents).

Amendments to Adamstown SDZ Planning Scheme 2014

On 26 May 2017, South Dublin County Council, as specified Development Agency, applied to An Bord Pleanála to amend the Adamstown SDZ Planning Scheme 2014, in accordance with Section 170A of the Planning & Development Act 2000, as amended.

A decision to approve Amendments 1 - 4 was issued by the Board to South Dublin County Council in September 2017. These amendments arose from the introduction in December 2015 of the "Sustainable Urban Housing: Design Standards for New Apartments Guidelines for Planning Authorities". The application of the policy standards in these Guidelines resulted in inconsistencies within the approved Planning Scheme which required clarification and amendment.

The detail of the Approved Amendments and a copy of An Bord Pleanála’s decision may be accessed below.

Important Note: The Adamstown SDZ Planning Scheme document, as adopted in 2014, will require updating to incorporate the approved amendments and a revised document will be made available shortly. However, in the interim, the Planning Scheme should be read in conjunction with the Approved Amendments document and An Bord Pleanála’s decision.
