South Dublin County Council has been delivering Village Enchancement schemes for a numbeer of years and historically has delivered improvements in; Tallaght, Rathfarnham and Palmerstown. In more recent years the Council has also completed works in Saggart and Templeogue and we are actively progressing the next set of schemes.
A design team was also established to oversee upgrades of the villages and district centres within the County. The task of this team is to re-design our public realm spaces to provide for the current and future needs of our communities.
The project brief for these schemes is broad and cover areas such as
- Sustainable Transport Infrastructure
- Public Realm Re-Allocation
- Retail Enchancement
- Disability Support
- Landscape / design
- Active Play
- Street Art
The intention is to continue delivering schemes on an ongoing basis over the coming years to provide public spaces throughout the county.
