The centre of Clondalkin is zoned “Town Centre” in the current South Dublin County Development Plan. A specific local objective requires the preparation of an Urban Framework-plan to encourage the growth of the village in a coherent, connected manner in scale with and sympathetic to the historical urban pattern. The NTA has agreed to fund the Clondalkin Town Centre study to include a package of traffic management options and other measures to improve the walking and cycling environment options and other measures to improve the walking and cycling environment within Clondalkin. Consulting Engineers have now been appointed for this project.
