Rosemount District Centre Enhancement Project
The regeneration of Rosemount District Centre has long been a priority for South Dublin County Council, culminating in a comprehensive programme of public realm and streetscape works to Rosemount Shopping Centre, its car park, and the surrounding curtilage along Marian Road — delivered as part of the wider District Centre Enhancement Programme (DCEP).

Scope of works:
Installation of speed ramps and narrowing of junction radii along Marian Road.
A sustainable sheltered seating built with repurposed wind turbine blades with bike stands.
Footpath fronting the shops improved to a shared use plaza with new block paving, plus new street furniture: lighting, bins, and play-on-the-way features.
New public lighting installed and improved pedestrian links to and through the District Centre.
Installation of a biodiversity raingarden and filter drain for surface water drainage solutions.
Rationalisation of the car parking layout to maximise functionality.
Part VIII and Construction:
Public consultation for the Rosemount District Centre Enhancement Project was approved in October 2023.
Works began on 6 August 2024 and ran for eight months, with a Substantial Completion Certificate issued in April 2025.
The village has been designed and built to be future proof, and this should allow the scheme to develop and mature over time. Electric vehicle charging points have been provided and will be operational shortly.
The village scheme was officially opened by Mayor Baby Pereppadan on Wednesday 28th May 2025.
