Lucan Demesne

In order to provide a more inviting entrance point to the fabulous walking trails and river access of Lucan Demesne, a new gateway feature has been constructed. This involved the conversion of an existing car parking area into a pedestrian plaza with a landmark entry portal. The intent of the design is that these features will help to signpost the wonderful Demesne and will allow the full amenity potential to be realised.

The design has allowed for a set down area for kayakers who use the Demesne as a launch point to the Liffey. 

The car park spaces which are to be removed for the construction of the plaza have been offset by the construction of new parking areas on the eastern side of the road. New pedestrian crossings have been provided to allow for safe access for pedestrians.
