Lucan Promenade

The works on the promenade will build upon improvements carried out in 2008 and will provide additional incentives for people to take time-out and enjoy the tranquillity of the famous Lucan weir and bridge.

Access to the promenade will be improved by the construction of new steps from the bridge side. The existing entrance from Watery Lane will also be upgraded to provide more of a gateway to the amenity.

Building upon the existing layout, additional seating areas and landscaping will allow for people to enjoy the river Liffey as it passes by. The proposed layout also allows for temporary stalls to be erected if need during community festivals or pop-up markets. Environmentally sensitive public lighting has been included in the design to enable the space to be used to a greater extent in the winter months.
