Bike Week 2026

Bike week 2026 will run from the 9th of May 2026 – 17th May 2026. Active travel has collaborated with Active Cities Dublin and the Climate Action team to run a series of events throughout the week. Enjoy a wide range of fun bike events from community and school cycles, safety workshops and much more. It’s easy, fun and there’s something for everyone. .

What Is Active Travel?

Active Travel is making a journey by Walking, Cycling or similar sustainable modes (think skateboards, roller skates, non-motorised scooters). These journeys are usually short like walking to the shop or school and cycling to work.

Types of Active Travel Schemes at SDCC

Funded by the NTA, South Dublin County Council will deliver schemes such as active travel schools, permeability measures to support improved access within and between local communities.
