Safe School Zones Consultation
South Dublin County Council have concluded consultation regarding proposed Safe School Zones work at three separate schools. The three school with works proposed are:
- Belgard Heights National School (Solas Chriost)
- Esker Educate Together National School
- Talbot Senior National School

Consultation summary:
20 submissions were received across the consultations relating to Safe School Zone works at three schools in South Dublin. 19 of these submissions related to Esker Educate Together National School. For this consultation, the themes of submissions were as follows:
- Unsafe driving in school area/ close encounters with accidents in front of school.
- Cars stopping in the road for child drop off.
- Unsafe parking in area surrounding the school.
- Need for works to indicate entering a School Zone.
With the feedback from these submissions, South Dublin County council will proceed to construction of these safety works under Section 38 of the Roads Traffic Act 1994
