Launch of Safe Routes to School Projects in Old Bawn, Tallaght

On 13th of June 2025, SDCC officially opened Safe Routes to School initiatives at St Dominic’s National School in Old Bawn, Tallaght. The project on Mountain Park is officially named a school zone.

The St Dominics School Zone project consists of new raised zebra crossings, resurfaced footpath for obstacle free walking and wheeling, colourful railings and pencil tops to brighten the area in front of the school and indicate it as a school zone as well as pencil bollards along the footpath. The objective of this scheme was to improve safety at front of school and encourage more walking and cycling to school during commute hours.
