Eco Week 2024 launched in South Dublin

Eco Week 2024, which is taking place from 15 to 19 April was launched by the Mayor of South Dublin County Council, Cllr. Alan Edge in Mount Seskin Community College, Jobstown with teachers and pupils on Monday 15 April 2024.

Through Eco Week the council offers schools across South Dublin a range of classroom-based talks, workshops, which will educate and inform them on the environment and climate change, biodiversity.

All events held during the week are FREE and this year we gave over 100 workshops to schools in SDCC area.

Mayor of South Dublin County Council, Cllr. Alan Edge said: “Eco Week is a great opportunity for students to learn from the experts, to train and gain experience on how your actions impact on your local environment. Whenever I visit schools in the County, I’m always inspired by the level of understanding of our children and young people of all ages and their understanding of the realities of the climate crisis. This is a great opportunity for them to become advocates, educating previous generations on what needs to be done “
