  • Stakeholder Mapping

An initial stakeholder mapping process, supported by direct community engagement, was used to identify key groups, understand local needs, and develop tailored, proactive strategies to strengthen relationships and enhance the effectiveness of the Clondalkin DZ plan.

  • Community Climate Action Survey

The community climate action survey ran from May 24th to July 7th 2025 and received a total of 244 responses from both online and hard-copy submissions.

  • Library information Sessions and Wider Engagement

Library information sessions and other in-person wider engagement activities were conducted throughout the engagement period to include as many community members as possible in the process.

  • Engagement of Local Councillors

In total, three information sessions were held with local councillors throughout the DZ process - one in May 2024, another in July 2024 and the final session in March 2025.

  • Community Visioning Workshops

Six visioning workshops were held between October and December of 2024 with six individual community groups to create a representative and shared vision for the Clondalkin DZ.

  • Two Condalkin DZ Consultations Group Workshops

Individuals who expressed interest in continuing in the DZ process were invited to take part in further workshops to advance the co-creation of the DZ plan. The workshops took place on the January 22nd and March 5th, 2025.

  • A wider Community Event

A wider community event was held at the end of the DZ engagement process to showcase the work completed with community members during the workshops and to validate this information with the wider community. The total number of attendees at the event held on the 29th of March 2025, was 29 adults and 5 children.

From the above engagements we developed the below vision and mission statements.

As part of the engagement process with the Clondalkn community it was important to also identify place-specific objectives that speak to not only the unique characteristics of Clondalkin but of the lived experience of the community. From the engagement process 5 community objectives were developed and are listed below.
