Clondalkin Decarbonising Zone

Clondalkin has been identified by SDCC as a Decarbonising Zone (DZ) under Ireland’s National Climate Action Plan. The national Climate Action Plan 2025 defined a DZ as a spatial area identified by the local authority in which a range of climate mitigation, adaptation and biodiversity measures will be identified to address local greenhouse gas emissions. The DZ will focus on targeted, area-based measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and support the transition to a low-carbon, climate-resilient future, below are some key facts on the DZ.
The below map outlines the boundary of the Clondalkin Decarbonising Zone, providing an interactive spatial view of the DZ where actions will be prioritised across sectors such as buildings, transport, and energy. Once actions begin to be completed they will be mapped and visible to see below.
