World Environment Day
World Environment Day is taking place on Thursday the 5th of June. World Environment day is putting a focus on tackling plastic pollution, plastic pollution is a problem that affects every corner of the planet and we need to take more steps in solving this problem. This year's World Environment Day takes place exactly two months before countries meet to negotiate the global treaty to end plastic pollution.
This treaty when adopted will lead the way to reducing our plastic pollution. However, there are steps that society can take such as:
- Avoiding singe use plastics such as straws, plates and cutlery.
- Replace plastic tupperware for glass or steel containers.
- Use your own refillable flasks, mugs and bottles when you can.
- When you have plastic in your home try your best to ensure it goes into the correct bin.
- When shopping bring a reusable bag.
