Community Climate Action Programme

Community Climate Action Programme

Phase 2 projects have been announced with funding of €1,202,599.87 supporting a wide variety of climate action across the community.

The funding supports climate action that has real impact.

Work will include installing renewable energy sources like solar panels, making electricity use greener. The insulation of buildings to make them warmer is also featured, reducing the use of greenhouse gas creating fuels like oil and gas. Other projects focus on reducing food waste and increasing local food production, reducing the climate impact of our food systems, as well as the development of local green spaces. Projects also seek to promote active travel, by providing parking facilities for bikes and scooters, thus encouraging alternative journeys to those made by car.

The Community Climate Action Programme seeks to shape and build low carbon communities in South Dublin. With funding from the Department of Climate, Energy and the Environment, the programme is supporting community organisations in South Dublin to take meaningful climate action that has real impact.
