Reduce Your Use Campaign 25/26
South Dublin County Council has registered to be a part of the Reduce Your Use (RYU) Campaign 2025/26. The RYU campaign which was developed by the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland and the Office of Public Works helps business and organisations reduce their energy use through low or no cost measures minimising waste and by encouraging individuals to adopt sustainable practices.
The RYU campaign will be implemented in County Hall. The campaign provides suggestions and implementations such as retrofitting of lights, installations of energy-efficient appliances, three bin systems and so on.
The campaign will also help bring about behavioural change within County Hall. This can be achieved through seasonal posters and messages highlighting to staff steps they can take to reduce their energy usage within the building. There are also trainings that can be dispersed to staff on topics such as eco-driving, office energy efficiency and home energy suggestions to name a few.
This campaign can help SDCC improve its energy efficiency and alter the traditional perspectives of staff through low or no cost measures.
