Plastic Free July
Plastic Free July was started by Rebecca Prince-Ruiz the founder of the Plastic Free Foundation. Since its creation Plastic Free July has grown to be one of the most influential environmental campaign in the world. Plastic Free July is a campaigns that promotes a challenge, what plastic can you reduce or eliminate from your life for a day, week or the whole month of July.
Below is a list of some things you could be doing to reduce your plastic usage:
- Avoid the purchase of plastic straws, plates & cutlery, shopping bags and containers.
- Replace your plastic tupperware for glass or metal alternatives.
- Use where possible a reusable coffee mug or water bottle.
- Avoid the purchasing of cosmetics that use microplastics.
- Buy compostable bin bags for any food waste you may have.
