No Mow May 2026

No Mow May 2026

Every spring, gardens across Ireland begins to buzz with life, but much of that activity gets cut short by regular mowing so it is once again time for No Mow May. No Mow May is a fantastic way to take some climate action by doing absolutely nothing. No Mow May is a simple initiative encouraging citizens to put the lawnmower away for the month of May and allow your grass to grow, and in amongst the grass will be native wildflowers that can provide the food needed for our native bees and other pollinating insects. This method is so simple and in an urban environment really benefit our native pollinators.

At the end of the month you can choose to mow your grass again or take some other measures such as mowing less frequently going forward or leaving sections of your lawn to grow naturally. By taking part in No Mow May, you are contributing to a greener more resilient environment by doing absolutetly nothing.

If you would like to find out what else you could do for our pollinators please check out the All Ireland Pollinator Plan.
