Launch of SDCC's Big Belly Bins
Mayor Pamela Kearns has launched the new solar-powered compactor bins at Work IQ in Tallaght. Marking the role out of these bins in our larger urban centres. The bins will be installed across Tallaght, Clondalkin, Lucan and Rathfarnham, with 102 upgraded bins planned as part of this programme.
The Big Belly Bins are able to compact the waste which will significantly increase the bins capacity helping keep public spaces cleaner but also reducing the collection frequency for SDCC staff. The built in smart tehnology provides real-time data to optimise routes and support climate action, while the exterior of the bins will feature local landmarks to promote community pride.
