SDCC is celebrating Earth Day on the 22nd of April by introducing the 2GoBowl to our main canteen. This is just one of the latest steps we have taken to reduce our waste and raise awareness for environmental protection. Below are other steps SDCC has taken to meet our climate and circular economy commitments.
- SDCC has introduced a 2GoCup.
- SDCC removed single sauce satchets in 2025, eliminating an estimated 32,500 plastic satchets a year.
- SDCC switched to recycled paper for all our printers across the organisation.
- SDCC introduced a three - bin waste system in County Hall and Clondalkin Civic Offices to reduce our waste and increase recyclability.
- Alongside the three - bin waste system SDCC brought in a deposit and return scheme where staff can leave their cans & bottles for various charities take and Use. (Work on this).
- SDCC Canteen is also encouraging staff to take left over coffee grinds home to be used for composting.
