Variation No. 2 – Proposed Variation to the County Development Plan
SDCC has published Proposed Variation No. 2 to the South Dublin County Development Plan 2022-2028 (CDP) to respond to changes in National planning policy, including increased housing growth requirements arising from the National Planning Framework – First Revision (2025). The variation proposes zoning of additional lands for residential development, together with associated policy and text amendments to the CDP to implement national policy and facilitate increased housing delivery. We encourage the public to review the proposals and make a submission before the closing date - 23:59pm on Friday, 13th March 2026

Context - Bigger Picture
The Plan sits within a hierarchy of plans and is required to have a Core Strategy which will show that the objectives in the plan are consistent with the objectives set out in National and Regional Strategies.
