ePower Working With South Dublin County Council to Deliver EV Charging Infrastructure
South Dublin County Council along with the other Dublin local authorithies of Dublin City, Dun Laoghaire Rathdown and Fingal have announced its selection of ePower as the provider for its public electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. This partnership marks a significant step towards the council's commitment to sustainable transportation and a greener future for the region. The move is expected to significantly boost the availability of convenient and reliable charging options for EV owners in Dublin.
The announcement signals a growing momentum for EV adoption in Ireland. As the number of electric vehicles on the road increases, so too does the need for accessible and efficient charging solutions. South Dublin County Council's collaboration with ePower aims to address this need head-on, paving the way for a smoother transition to electric mobility.
Over the next two years, some 200 chargers will be brought into operation around key destinations in the Dublin County region. This collaborative effort will help pave the way for smoother infrastructure development, better resource allocation, and greater convenience for EV owners who may not have access to charging facilities at their home across the whole of County Dublin. It will also offer easy access for those travelling to Dublin from other parts of the country. Initially fourteen locations will have EV charging points installed, spread across South Dublin County in car park locations such as public parks, leisure centres, sports grounds and libraries. The council has indicated its ambition to create a comprehensive network that serves both residents and visitors. The partnership with ePower, a leading provider of EV charging solutions, is seen as crucial to achieving this goal. ePower's expertise in installing and maintaining charging infrastructure, combined with their understanding of the evolving needs of EV drivers, positions them as an ideal partner for the council.
