The Community Climate Action Programme (CCAP) seeks to shape and build low carbon communities in South Dublin. With funding from the Department of Climate, Energy and the Environment, the programme is supporting community organisations in SDCC to take meaningful climate action that has real impact. In the Clondalkin DZ five community groups were funded under CCAP.
ACE Enterprise Park
ACE Enterprise Park received funding covering new internal LED lights, EV Charging, and Windows and Doors Retrofit, all within the Community Hub which is home to various charity partners, and the creation of a garden for everyone in the park.

Oakfield Trust
Oakfield Trust delivered a windows and doors retrofit and a solar panel installation at Citizens Information Centre (Luke Cullen House), Clondalkin. At Crag Terrace, they delivered new windows and doors, and a full retrofit of internal insulation. Both premises have been made more energy efficient and comfortable for those who use them.
Round Tower GAA received both Strand 1 and 1a funding to complete a retrofit of the floodlights at both pitches at their site in Clondalkin village and install solar panels on the roof of their gym.
Food Cloud
The purpose of this grant funding was to purchase equipment to enhance FoodCloud’s capacity to rescue and redistribute surplus food in the FoodCloud Dublin Hub and FoodCloud Kitchen, both located in South Dublin.

Recycle IT developed an innovative WEEE recycling programme with their funding, bringing electrical recycling to communities rather than asking communities to come to them.
North Clondalkin Community Development Programme
North Clondalkin CDP retrofitted the windows and doors of their premises in North Clondalkin. The goal was to keep more heat in the building, creating a better space for their community activities.
Clondalkin Addiction Support Programme delivered a retrofit of their windows and doors and insulation at roof level, helping to make their building warmer in winter months. Solar panels were installed to generate their own green electricity. In partnership with the local men’s shed, a grow your own food programme was undertaken with family members of people experiencing problematic substance use to help grow vegetables in their gardens and on balconies.
