South Dublin County Council has introduced several measures to increase recycling in Council buildings:

We have introduced segregated bins and composting facilities in the offices and canteen.

• In partnership with RecycleIT, WEEE collection schemes are promoted annually in County Council buildings and currently we have a WEEE bin full time in the lobby of County Hall.
• Additional measures including kitchen caddies are currently under consideration to assist composting.
• Corporate services is currently renegotiating the canteen contract, with environmental issues and expectations at the forefront of the negotiations.
