Age Friendly Strategy Questionnaire 2020

  • Promote opportunities improve the health and well-being of older people in the County
  • Encourage older people to take an active part in the social, economic, and cultural life of the community
  • Enhance partnerships between the Council, local statutory, private and voluntary organisations in identifying key issues and appropriate responses to the needs of older people

According to Mayor of South Dublin County Council Cllr. Ed O’Brien

“Our aim is to make South County Dublin a place where older people are treated with dignity and respect; and their contribution to the social, economic and cultural fabric of the County is valued. It is through this questionnaire that you as an older person have the opportunity to contribute to the formation of this strategy and help South Dublin County Council become a more age friendly county.”

Cllr Trevor Gilligan Chair of the Social, Community and Equality Strategic Policy Committee which has responsibility for preparing the strategy added:

“As part of the consultation stage of this strategy we call upon all older persons, networks and groups to complete this questionnaire. Your opinion as an older citizen living in south Dublin would greatly help us as a local authority formulate this strategy centred around your views and perceptions of being an older person living in South Dublin.”

Mary Lyons member of TUS NUA - South Dublin Older Persons Council added

“This is a great opportunity for the population of older persons, networks and groups to take part and influence how our needs as older persons are provided for in the services that south Dublin County Council provide now and into the future. I would encourage everyone to take the time to participate in this survey and have your voice and opinion heard”.

The South Dublin Age Friendly County questionnaire will be available on-line at www.sdcc.iefrom Wednesday 29 July to Friday 14 August .
