Since 2018 the scheme has provided €168,440 in funding support to events taking place across the County. Grant recipient John Walsh, of Dublin Masters International Basketball Tournament says, “'The Tourism Event and Festivals Grant has been a huge factor in the growth and the success of the Dublin Masters International Basketball Tournament. The event started back in 2013 with 17 teams. This year will be the 10th running of the event and we expect to have 66 teams competing from all parts of Ireland and from at least 10 countries. We would not have been able to grow the event to the extent we have without this grant and the fantastic backing and support from the SDCC.”

Up to €60,000 has been allocated for this year’s scheme. Applications are now being accepted.

To apply for the scheme, event organisers can complete an online application form on sdcc.ie or by visiting http://sdcc.ie/en/services/sport-and-recreation/tourism/tourism-events-and-festivals-grants/ .
