06 Mar 23

Mayor of South Dublin County, Cllr Emma Murphy launched the annual Eco Week in Firhouse Community College on 6 March.

Eco Week runs from 6 to 10 March and goes from strength to strength each year. It promotes awareness of the environment and is a fantastic opportunity for schools in the County to educate each other on environment / climate change challenges and to become part of the solution.  All events held during Eco week are FREE.  This year there are over 80 workshops to choose from. These topics range from biodiversity and climate change to our natural peatlands.

Speaking at the launchMayor Emma Murphy said: “Welcome to South Dublin County Council’s annual Eco week, which aims to highlight awareness of the climate to school children across South Dublin.

Now more than ever children and young people of all ages need to become a part of the solution by increasing their understanding of the issues and influencing previous generations on what needs to be done.

Eco week is a great opportunity to learn from the experts in the field, to train and gain experience on how your actions impact on your local environment.

Eco week has something for everyone and covers a variety of topics.”
