Live Performance is Back! A myriad of events will take place across May with live music performances supported by South Dublin Arts Office and the Dept. of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport, and Media through their Live Local Performance Scheme.
With dance and music events for all ages from Hip Hop, Folk, Funk to Jazz, Afro and Brazilian Beats there’s something for everybody. Showcasing professional and emerging artists from across the area there are events to suit all tastes in South Dublin in May.

“We are delighted to support professional local artists returning to the stage and those who are new to preforming with live audiences. The breadth of talent from the area has given us an impressive, eclectic mix of events to kick-start an exciting programme for 2022. It’s great to see seasoned performers back in the spotlight and to highlight all the new talent emerging in the area.”
Events kick off with Clondalkin rapper Sello hosting interactive workshops at primary schools across South Dublin.
Meanwhile The Full Shillin (Trad Irish Band) will be continuing to perform for invited audiences at Lisheen Nursing Home, Rathcoole, Lucan Nursing Home, Sally Park Nursing Home, Knocklyon, Lexington Nursing Home, Clondalkin and Kiltipper Nursing Home Bohernabreena in a series of gigs across April and May.
On Saturday 7th & 21st May at 8pm Think Punk Studios will host a variety of international artists from Poland, Ireland, Estonia, Brazil, Nigeria, Italy, and Turkey. Live performance will be mixed with audience participation in what promises to be an exciting engaging event.
The Summer Music Trail kicks off at North Clondalkin Library featuring live folk music from Niamh Keane and friends. Two shows will take place starting at 10am and again at 11.30am on Friday 13th May. A second show will take place at Tallaght Library on Friday 20th May, again with two shows kicking off at 10am and at 11.30am.
Sharing Moves’N – Dance Showcase - Live interactive dance and music performance for children and young people with Afro Dance, Brazilian, Funk and Hip-Hop featuring Favour Odusola, Tatiana do Santos and Olwyn Lyons will take place at 4.30pm at Adamstown Community Centre, Friday 27th May and again at 4.30pm at MacUíllíam Estate Basketball Court, Tallaght on Saturday 28thth May
For the grownups, The Snug Sessions present Jazz Rap, R&B and DIY Pop performances from Nealo, Tebi Rex (Matt Ó & Max Zanga) and Davey at Áras Chrónáin on Saturday 28th May at 8pm.
