Development Plan

The Development Plan sets out a vision and an overall strategy for the proper planning and sustainable development of the County for a six-year period. It will also set out guiding policies and objectives for the development of the County in terms of physical growth and renewal, economic, social and cultural activity, and environmental protection and enhancement. The County Plan must take account of various national and regional strategies and guidelines. The Plan reflects consultation with the general public and other interested bodies.

South Dublin County Council commenced a review of the South Dublin County Council Development Plan 2010-2016 on the 5th September 2014 and will create a new South Dublin County Council Development Plan for the period 2016 to 2022 over the next two years. The current South Dublin County Council Development Plan 2016 - 2022 may be inspected at County Hall, Tallaght, Clondalkin in Civic Offices and in public libraries during normal office hours. Copies of the plan are available for purchase.

Note: The making of the County Development Plan, Local Area Plans, variations of a plan and any material contravention of the plan is a function reserved to the elected members of the Council.
