Waste Collection Frequently Asked Questions and Other Information
To avail of South Dublin County Council’s waste collection service, customers must only use the advanced credit system from Monday 1st February.The Top Six Frequently Asked Questions from our Customer Care Team
It is important that you keep your Waste Charges Card in a safe place.
A dual system has been in place where you could use bin tags or the new advanced credit system. However from Monday, 1st February only the advanced credit can be used.

The Top Six Frequently Asked Questions from our Customer Care Team
#1 I have mislaid my waste card – how do I get a new card?
If your Waste Charges Card is lost or stolen, Please report this immediately to the Environmental Services Department on the customer contact form or phone 01- 4149000. We will issue you with a new Waste Charges Card & transfer the credit balance to your new Waste Charges Card.It is important that you keep your Waste Charges Card in a safe place.
#2 My bin is not registered – what do I have to do?
Please contact Environmental Services Department on the customer contact form giving us your name, address and contact details.#3 My bin was not collected?
Your bin should be collected if you have enough credit and it is presented properly – with the lid fully closed and out on time. In the event of your bin not being collected, please check your account online or alternatively contact us on the customer contact form or at 01- 4149000. The Refuse Collection Staff are unable to check accounts.#4 How do I change the name on my account?

You can put bin lift credit on your card up to as late as midnight on the day before your collection but you must have enough credit on your Waste Charges Account to have your bin collected.Further information and questions answered
A new computer system on the bin trucks can identify and record a householder’s bin and deduct the cost of the bin lift from their Waste Charges Account automatically.A dual system has been in place where you could use bin tags or the new advanced credit system. How will the new advance credit system affect my waste charges waiver?
Instead of receiving bin tags in the post, your Waste Charges Account will be automatically credited with a number of bin lifts on a quarterly basis. So you still have your waiver and you do not have to pay for bin lifts. More information here .Latest News
