Revaluation of Commercial Properties in the County of South Dublin

Revaluation of commercial and industrial properties in the County of South Dublin has been completed. The Valuation Office has now issued final certificates (see sample) to all ratepayers in South Dublin County Council’s Administrative Area as part of the Revaluation Process. If you have not received a final valuation certificate yet you should contact the Valuation Office directly by email at reval2017@valoff.ie, by telephone at 01-8171033 or LoCall: 1890 531 431.

This new rateable valuation will be effective from 1st January 2018, and will be the basis for calculating your Annual Rates liability for 2018 and subsequent years.

The Annual Rates are determined by multiplying the Rateable Valuation by a multiplier called the Annual Rate on Valuation (ARV).

Current indications are that the ARV for 2018 could be 0.28 Therefore, in order to calculate your likely Annual Rates for 2018 you should multiply your Rateable Valuation by 0.28

An estimate of your rates liability for 2018 can be computed using the calculator below and inputting the valuation set out in the Proposed Valuation Certificate to calculate next year’s indicative rate and also by inputting your rate bill for 2017 you will be able to calculate any difference in amounts payable.

It should be noted that the Annual Rate on Valuation is indicative only. It is based on the total value of proposed valuations for South County Dublin as calculated and advised by the Valuation Office and may be subject to change, at the conclusion of the revaluation process and at the Council’s budget meeting for 2018 scheduled for early November this year

Walk In Clinics

Walk-in Clinics will be held in South Dublin County Council Head Offices, County Hall, Tallaght, Dublin 24 on the 26th September from 11.00am to 4.30pm and on 27th September 2017 from 9.30am to 4.30pm. Direction will be given at the porter’s desk and no prior appointment is needed. Valuation office staff will be present to answer queries relating to the recent issue of Final Valuation Certificate and options available if you are dissatisfied. Please note that this process has no effect on your Rates Bill for 2017.
