Development Contribution Scheme 2013-2015

The following information applies to planning permissions granted from January 1st 2014

In accordance with the Water Services (No. 2) Act 2013 (No. 50 of 2013) enacted on 25 December 2013 a range of statutory water services functions transfer from local authorities to Uisce Éireann from 1st January 2014. South Dublin County Council has been notified by the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government that after 1st January 2014, planning authorities, when granting permission, should no longer include a portion in respect of water services infrastructure in any development contribution applied. A charge in respect of water services infrastructure provision in respect of developments granted planning permission after 1st January 2014 will instead be levied by Uisce Éireann, Please see below information notice in this regard. 

There is no change in the case of permissions under section 34 of the Planning Act granted prior to 1st January 2014. It is further advised that new development contribution schemes made by planning authorities after 1st January 2014 should not contain charges in respect of water services infrastructure.

The effect overall of this Act is that the current 2013-2015 Development Contribution Scheme effective rates are reduced from and to the figures stated below for permissions granted after January 1st 2014;

The following information relates to planning permissions granted from 15th January 2013 to 31st December 2013 only

Notice is hereby given that on 14th January 2013 South Dublin County Council made a Development Contribution Scheme for the period 2013 – 2015, details are as follows:

 

DESCRIPTION OF DEVELOPMENT

AMOUNT OF CONTRIBUTION

Industrial/Commercial Development

€81.65 per square metre of development

Residential Development

€88.27 per square metre of development

The above rates shall be fixed from 15th January 2013 to 31st December 2014. The rate of contributions for the period 1st January 2015 to 31st December 2015 shall be determined at the appropriate time in consideration of any changes in the Tender Price Index in the intervening time. The commencement of the Scheme becomes effective for decisions to grant permission from 15th January, 2013.
